Copyright & DMCA.
Karta hosts applications and session content created by our customers and their end users. We respond to valid notices of claimed copyright infringement under the Digital Millennium Copyright Act (DMCA).
Designated agent
Send DMCA notices of claimed infringement to our registered designated agent:
Registered with the U.S. Copyright Office, designated-agent registration DMCA-1073961.
Filing a notice
A valid notice must include all of the following:
- Your physical or electronic signature (as the owner or an authorized agent).
- Identification of the copyrighted work you claim has been infringed.
- Identification of the material you claim is infringing, with enough detail for us to locate it (e.g. the URL or project/session reference).
- Your contact information: name, mailing address, telephone, and email.
- A statement that you have a good-faith belief the use is not authorized by the copyright owner, its agent, or the law.
- A statement, under penalty of perjury, that the information in your notice is accurate and that you are the owner or authorized to act on its behalf.
Counter-notification
If your material was removed and you believe that was a mistake or misidentification, you may send a counter-notification to the same agent, including your signature, identification of the removed material and its prior location, your contact information, and a statement under penalty of perjury that you have a good-faith belief the removal was an error - together with your consent to the jurisdiction of the appropriate U.S. federal court.
Repeat infringers
In appropriate circumstances, Karta will disable or terminate the accounts of users who are repeat infringers.
